Brooks starts 1st game with US men as Americans put 11-game winning streak on line vs. Bosnia

John Brooks is starting his first game with the U.S. men's team, with coach Jurgen Klinsmann putting the 20-year-old in central defense for Wednesday's exhibition against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo.

The Americans are putting their record 11-game winning streak on the line against the 13th-ranked Dragons. Bosnia is unbeaten in its last nine games.

Brooks is from Berlin but has an American father, making him eligible to play for both Germany and the United States. Despite interest from Germany, he chose to play for the Americans and got his first call-up to the senior team for Wednesday's game.

Klinsmann selected mostly Europe-based player for the game, the Americans' first against Bosnia. But he took two players from MLS, and Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson are both in the starting lineup.
