Englewood, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Denver Broncos third-round draft pick Jeff Heuerman is expected to miss his first NFL season after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee on Saturday.
The 6-foot-5 tight end from Ohio State, who was selected No. 92 overall last week, was injured when he made a cut during a special teams drill at rookie camp.
"I feel terrible for Jeff and this is a very unfortunate situation," Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said, according to the team's official website. "Jeff was going to be a big part of our team this year, and he's still going to be a big part of our team and organization in the future."

The injury came one day after Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler, Jr. -- the No. 3 overall pick -- was also lost for the season with a torn ACL in his left knee.
