Chicago, IL – Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo left Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs hobbling in the fifth inning.
The 27-year-old Gallardo delivered a 1-2 pitch which was fouled off, but he limped on his follow-through.
Gallardo left with two outs and the bases loaded. John Axford entered and gave up a two-run single to Darwin Barney and another RBI hit to Welington Castillo. Gallardo was charged for all three runs, the only allowed in his 4 2/3 innings. He gave up six hits and three walks.
On the season, Gallardo is 8-9 with a 4.91 earned run average in 23 starts.
