Los Angeles, CA – The Atlanta Braves optioned pitcher Jair Jurrjens to Triple-A Gwinnett after Monday night's loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Jurrjens labored through three-plus innings and was shelled for five runs on nine hits and a walk to earn his second loss of the season.
The 26-year-old righty is 0-2 this season with a 9.37 earned run average in 16 1/3 innings over four starts.
The Braves recalled right-hander Cory Gearrin from Gwinnett on Tuesday morning to take the vacated roster spot. Gearrin has 15 strikeouts over 12 1/3 scoreless innings for the Gwinnett Braves.
