The Paralyzed Veterans of America have an extra $150,000 this morning, thanks to the sale of a former Team Penske NASCAR stock car Thursday night at the Barrett-Jackson Collector-Car event in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The car in question was one of Brad Keselowski's former "Blue Deuce" No. 2 Penske cars that he raced in his Sprint Cup championship season of 2012. This one was a 2012 Dodge Charger that Keselowski ran in the fall Chase race that year at Texas Motor Speedway.
It sold on the auction block for $150,000. Every dime of that money will go to the PVA, as Barrett-Jackson does not charge fees or commissions on charity cars.
This same car was sold once before, at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction in 2013, where it raised $500,000 for the NASCAR Foundation. But it was donated back to be resold, helping another worthwhile cause.
