Boston clinches postseason berth

The Boston Bruins will get a chance to defend their Stanley Cup title as the team clinched a playoff berth on Friday.

Despite being idle, the team secured a spot in the postseason after Buffalo lost to Pittsburgh by a 5-3 score.

Boston, which sits in the second spot in the Eastern Conference and tops in the Northeast Division, is in the playoffs for the fifth straight season as last year the team defeated Vancouver in seven games to win its sixth Stanley Cup trophy.
