CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bobcats announced they've signed center Justin Hamilton to a 10-day contract.
Hamilton joined Charlotte on Tuesday after playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA D-League. Hamilton takes the roster spot of Ben Gordon, who was waived on Sunday.
The 7-foot Hamilton was averaging 19.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and two blocks in 37 games this season for the Skyforce while shooting 49 percent from the field. He has scored 20 points or more in 21 games this season and has three games with 30 or more points.
He was selected by Philadelphia 76ers with the 45th overall pick in 2012, but his rights were traded to the Miami Heat. He spent last season playing internationally in Croatia and Latvia.
