The St. Louis Blues got some bad news this week as 23-year-old left wing David Perron will not be ready for the start of the season due to lingering symptoms from a concussion he suffered in a game against San Jose on Nov. 4.
Perron, who stayed in that game and even scored a goal after taking an elbow to the head from Sharks captain Joe Thornton, didn't play again for the rest of the season.
According to a tweet from Blues' beat writer Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Perron met with the Blues this week and it was determined he will not be ready to start the season.

St. Louis opens at home against Nashville on Oct. 8.
"You can't be too eager to come back," Perron told the Post-Dispatch in April. "There's parts of the day when I feel really well, and you're like, 'If I could feel like that all day, I'd be fine.' But then there are situations that remind me, 'All right, you're not fine.' "
Perron had 7 points in 10 games before the concussion knocked him out for the season. He has 131 points in 235 career NHL games dating back to his rookie season of 2007-08.
