Just a couple days after taking home American League Player of the Week, Edwin Encarnacion was awarded AL Player of the Month.

The Toronto Blue Jays slugger had an enormous August, hitting .407 with 11 homers and 35 RBI in 23 games.

According to baseball-reference.com, Encarnacion is the only Blue Jay in franchise history to have at least 35 RBI in that few of games in a calendar month. He and his teammate, Josh Donaldson who drove in 35 RBI in August as well, are the only two Blue Jays to tally 35 RBI in a calendar month, regardless of games played.

In other words, the Blue Jays hitters are on fire.
