Blue Jays call up Wang, Jenkins

The Toronto Blue Jays recalled pitcher Chad Jenkins from Double-A New Hampshire and selected the contract of pitcher Chien-Ming Wang from Triple-A Buffalo.
Additionally, infielder Maicer Izturis was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
In three starts for Toronto this season, Jenkins is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA. The right-hander has a combined minor league record of 0-3 with a 4.54 ERA in 11 games (10 starts) while pitching for Buffalo, New Hampshire and the Gulf Coast Blue Jays.

Wang is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Houston Astros. In just five starts for Toronto this year, Wang is 1-1 with a 7.13 ERA. The right- hander has not pitched in the majors since July 2, when he was shelled for six earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings against the Tigers.
