VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Chicago forward Troy Brouwer is returning from a shoulder injury to start the first game of the Blackhawks' first-round playoff series against the Vancouver Canucks.

Brouwer says he's ready to battle in front of the net to try to disrupt Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo in Game 1 Wednesday night after missing the last three games of the regular season. The Vancouver native had 17 goals and 36 points in the 79 games before that.

Brouwer had four goals and eight points in 19 playoffs games when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last season.

Chicago center Dave Bolland, out since March 9 with a concussion, practiced but isn't ready to return.
