Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks acquired defensemen David Rundblad and Mathieu Brisebois from the Phoenix Coyotes Tuesday in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The 23-year-old Rundblad posted one assist in 12 games with Phoenix this season and has recorded nine points in 50 career NHL games with the Coyotes and Senators since making his NHL debut on Oct. 11, 2011 with Ottawa.
Rundblad will join the Blackhawks. Brisebois, who's recorded six points in 28 games during his first professional season with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates, will report directly to Chicago's AHL affiliate in Rockford.
