The St. Louis Cardinals activated first baseman Lance Berkman from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.

Berkman, who missed the last 47 games after undergoing right knee surgery, was not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

The 14-year veteran has only played 13 games this season, hitting .333 with one home run and four RBI.

To make room for Berkman on the roster, the Cardinals optioned outfielder Shane Robinson to Triple-A Memphis. Robinson hit .256 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 125 at-bats for the Cardinals this season.
