Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Bengals signed veteran offensive tackle Eric Winston on Tuesday.

Winston, who is the president of the NFL Players Association, was signed by the Seattle Seahawks in July but cut a month later before the season started, making him a free agent.

The 31-year-old tackle has played eight NFL seasons, the first six with the Houston Texans and one each for the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals.

The durable lineman started all 16 games in each of his past eight seasons.

The Bengals waived sixth-year offensive tackle Jamon Meredith and second-year linebacker J.K. Schaffer.

Meredith was signed last week as a free agent and was inactive for this past Sunday's game at Tampa Bay. Concussions landed Schaffer on injured reserve.
