CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Bengals put quarterback AJ McCarron on the injury list Saturday as they got down to the 53-man roster limit, making the fifth-round pick ineligible to practice for the first six weeks of the season.
McCarron missed training camp and the preseason with a sore shoulder.
The Bengals also terminated the contract of safety Danieal Manning and waived receiver Cobi Hamilton, defensive end Dontay Moch, center Trevor Robinson and defensive tackle Devon Still. Robinson started seven games in 2012 as an injury fill-in. Rookie Russell Bodine won the starting job at center during camp.
The Bengals signed Manning as a free agent from Houston, one of their main offseason acquisitions.
