Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Bengals made it official on Tuesday and acquired safety Taylor Mays from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick.
Mays, a second-round selection by the 49ers in the 2010 NFL Draft, recorded 38 tackles and a forced fumble during his rookie campaign. He started six games, but saw his playing time diminish as the season progressed.
The USC product was reportedly on the trading block for more than two weeks, as the Cincinnati Enquirer on Monday said the 49ers had previously informed the other 31 teams that he was available.
