Bears cut Gholston
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Chicago Bears waived five players on Monday, including linebacker/defensive end Vernon Gholston.
Gholston was cut by the Jets in March following three disappointing seasons with the team.
The No. 6 overall pick in 2008, Gholston started only five games for the Jets, including two in 2010. He had 42 total tackles and no sacks in 45 games with New York.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Center J.C. Brignone, linebacker Tanner Antle, defensive tackle Tank Tyler and quarterback Trevor Vittatoe were also released by Chicago.
