Beal, Wizards down Jazz

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Bradley Beal's 22 points and seven rebounds helped the Washington Wizards erase a halftime deficit and top the Utah Jazz, 93-84, on Sunday.

Beal scored 13 points during the second half after the Wizards trailed 42-37 at the break.

John Wall stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, eight assists, six rebounds, five steals and three blocks for Washington, which has won four straight.

Alec Burks finished with 19 points for the Jazz, who have lost 11 of their last 12 games.

Enes Kanter chipped in 10 points and 11 boards for Utah.

After shooting 39.5 percent in the first half, Washington got hot in the third quarter and took a 67-58 lead after 36 minutes. The Wizards were 13-of-22 in the quarter, led by Beal and Paul Pierce with seven points each. Nene's fadeaway as time expired capped the quarter.

"We didn't play our (style of) basketball in the first half," Wizards center Marcin Gortat said. "We were patient (in the second half) and started playing better."

A fast start the fourth gave the Wizards their biggest lead of the game at 85-70. Except for a bucket from Beal, all of those points were scored by the Wizards reserves. Washington's bench outscored Utah's 33-17.

Washington limited Utah to just two made field goals over the final six minutes to keep the Jazz from rallying.

"They took better care of the ball and executed better," Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said. "We shot ourselves in the foot."

After that neither team led by more than four, the first period ended with Utah holding a 24-22 advantage.

Wall's jumper with less than six minutes to go in the second quarter gave the Wizards their last lead of the first half, but it was followed by an 8-0 Jazz run capped by a Gordon Hayward jumper. Utah led 42-37 at the half when Pierce hit a pair of free throws with 32 seconds left to shrink the Jazz lead.
