Baylor rolls past Arkansas in second round

Waco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Nina Davis spearheaded the charge with 21 points as the second-seeded Baylor Lady Bears earned a 73-44 victory over the 10th-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks in the second round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at the Ferrell Center.

Kristy Wallace chipped in 13 points for Baylor (31-3), which also received a double-double of 10 points and 12 assists courtesy of Niya Johnson. Alexis Prince contributed 11 points for the Lady Bears, who will advance to face Iowa in the Sweet 16.

Jessica Jackson scored a team-high 15 points on 4-of-18 shooting from the floor for the Razorbacks (18-14). Melissa Wolff finished with 13 points.

Baylor closed out the first half on a 28-7 run to go into the intermission with a 41-21 lead. The Lady Bears outscored Arkansas, 11-2, at the free-throw line in the opening period.

The Razorbacks were limited to 23.1 percent efficiency from the floor over the final 20 minutes of regulation.

Arkansas received zero points from its bench, while Baylor's reserves tallied 26 points.

The Bears had lost their last six matchups against Arkansas coming into Sunday's tilt.
