Bartoli beats Stosur in Osaka final

France's Marion Bartoli posted a 6-3, 6-1 seeded Australian Samantha Stosur to capture the title at the Japan Women's Open.

Rain caused both the semifinals and final to be moved to Sunday. After defeating third-seeded German Angelique Kerber in straight sets, the second- seeded wild card Bartoli won 10 of 11 games after falling behind 2-3 in the first set against Stosur.

Bartoli, who won this event in 2006, earned her seventh career title and second this year. She also triumphed in Eastbourne.

Fatigue could have been a factor for Stosur in the final. Earlier Sunday, the 2011 U.S. Open champ outlasted China's Zheng Jie 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours, 36 minutes.
