Hobart, Australia – German qualifier Mona Barthel captured seeded Belgian Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets at the $220,000 Moorilla Hobart International tennis event.
Barthel broke Wickmayer's serve six times on Saturday en route to a 6-1, 6-2 victory in a mere 59 minutes on the hardcourts at Domain Tennis Centre.
Wickmayer fell to 3-4 in career finals.
Barthel earned $37,000 for the victory.
