Barcelona opened defense of its La Liga 0 win over Villarreal at the Camp Nou.

Just one day after Real Madrid recorded a 6-0 win over Real Zaragoza, Barca answered with a dominating victory of its own as Thiago Alcantara opened the scoring for the home side after 25 minutes as he was set up by Cesc Fabregas.

The former Arsenal man then found the net himself after tracking down a through ball from Lionel Messi just before halftime, and Barca continued to batter the Yellow Submarine after the break.

Alcantara set up a goal for Alexis Sanchez in the 47th minute, while Messi capped the scoring with goals in the 52nd and 74th.
