Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Barcelona defender Jordi Alba could miss his team's league visit to Real Sociedad on Saturday because of a hamstring strain.
Alba sustained the injury in Barca's 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday, and after undergoing tests, the former Valencia man learned the extent of the injury.
"After arriving at the training ground, tests carried out have confirmed a strain in his right hamstring," a club statement read. "His recovery will determine whether he is available for the next game, which will be against Real Sociedad at Anoeta on Saturday."
The 24-year-old has started 10 games in La Liga after struggling with an injury earlier this year. Barcelona enters the weekend in a three-way tie atop the league with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
