D.J. Balentine scored 22 points to lead Evansville to a dominating 89-62 victory over IUPUI on Saturday night.

Balentine was 8 of 16 from the field, including 3 of 5 from long range. David Howard scored a career-high 16 points, Mislav Brzoja added 10 and Egidiju Mockevicius had nine points, 10 rebounds and four blocks for Evansville (6-1).

The Purple Aces trailed early, but quickly reversed that, running off 19 unanswered points to lead 27-9 at the midway point of the first half, and built a 40-16 advantage at the break. Evansville eased up in the second period to coast to the victory.

The Aces shot 56.6 percent from the floor (30 of 53) and scored 48 points in the paint. Evansville limited IUPUI to 22-of-54 shooting (40.7 percent).

Leo Svete had 17 points and Mason Archie chipped in 11 for IUPUI (2-5).
