(SportsNetwork.com) - Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from the upcoming French Open due to a left foot injury that has left the former world No. 1 out of action for more than two months.
Azarenka made the announcement Sunday through her Twitter account.
"Hi Guys - Unfortunately I will not be able to compete in Roland Garros this year," Azarenka wrote. "Working hard on my recovery & getting back on the court."

Azarenka hasn't played since a second-round loss to Lauren Davis in Indian Wells and made just two other starts this year. She lost to Serena Williams in the final of the season-opening event in Brisbane and fell to Agnieszka Radwanska in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
The French Open begins May 25 in Paris.
