Enschede, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - AZ Alkmaar took over fourth place in the Eredivisie on Sunday with goals from Wesley Hoedt and Aron Johannsson in a 2-0 win at Twente.
Hoedt got the scoring started in the 10th minute with a clever overhead kick that eluded the reach of Twente goalkeeper Nick Marsman.
Johannsson then made it 2-0 in the 35th when Mattias Johansson cut the ball back for the American international to fire past Marsman from close range.

The home side managed little in the way of chances going forward, and they failed to take advantage of playing the final 20 minutes a man up after AZ's Nemanja Gudej received a second yellow card for kicking out at Twente's Jesus Corona.
AZ moves to within three points of third-place Feyenoord with two games to play, while Twente drops to 12th.
Second-place Ajax needed a goal in the 89th minute from Kolbeinn Sigthorsson to rescue a 1-1 draw at Zwolle, last-place Dordrecht and Cambuur battled to a 0-0 draw, while Feyenoord was held to a 1-1 deadlock at Groningen as the two sides traded goals in the opening half.
