DALLAS (Reuters) - Cameron Percy of Australia beat Americans Bubba Watson and Charley Hoffman in a three-hole playoff on Monday to claim the eighth and final U.S. qualifying berth for the British Open.

American Tim Petrovic, with rounds of 64 and 65, led the way with a combined 11-under-par at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano.

"I can't wait to go back," Petrovic told reporters. "I've missed the 36-hole cut the last three times, but I've learned a lot."

Bo Van Pelt was a shot behind with a combined 130, followed by fellow-American D.A. Points, Briton Martin Laird and Americans Tom Pernice Jr., George McNeill and Glen Day in qualifying for the July 15-18 British Open at St. Andrews.

Among notable players failing to qualify was Rory Sabbatini of South Africa, Australian Aaron Baddeley and U.S. veteran Davis Love III.
