Austin Peay blows out Chattanooga 89-57

TyShwan Edmondson scored 23 points and Austin Peay used a stingy defense to blow out Chattanooga 89-57 on Monday night.

The Governors (10-6) led 41-23 at halftime after shooting 50 percent from the field (17 for 34) and held Chattanooga to 5-of-26 shooting (19.2 percent), including 2 for 12 from beyond the arc (16.7 percent).

Josh Terry scored 16 points while John Fraley added 11 points and 11 rebounds for Austin Peay, which has won three straight since a 70-68 overtime loss to No. 19 Memphis on Dec. 16.

The Mocs (7-8) shot 85.7 percent from the free-throw line (24 of 28). But they couldn't overcome poor field-goal shooting or 19 turnovers, which resulted in 21 points for the Governors, who finished 31 of 62 from the floor (50 percent).

Troy Cage scored 13 points and Chris Early and Ricky Taylor added 12 apiece for Chattanooga. Cage and Early each had nine rebounds.
