Aurier secures permanent PSG move

Paris, France (SportsNetwork.com) - PSG defender Serge Aurier completed a permanent switch to the capital club on Wednesday after signing a deal that keeps him in Paris until 2019.

The 22-year-old moved to PSG from Toulouse in the summer on a loan deal, with the defending champions having the option to buy, which they exercised on Wednesday.

"The project here at Paris Saint-Germain is exceptional. I am enjoying a magnificent season, both on an individual and team level," Aurier told the club's official website. "I am very proud that the club is again showing its confidence in me. I will continue to progress to help the team reach the summits of the game, both in France and Europe."

Aurier was a member of the World Cup side for the Ivory Coast last summer, and he helped his country win the African Cup of Nations in January.

And now Aurier is looking to collect more trophies this season with PSG in place to win the domestic treble.

The club has already captured the Coupe de la Ligue and PSG will contest the final of Coupe de France on May 30.

Tuesday's 3-1 win over Metz also moved Laurent Blanc's side three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with four matches to play.

Aurier has appeared in 12 Ligue 1 games for PSG this term, recording three assists.
