Atletico Mineiro reclaimed the top spot in the Brasileiro on Thursday night, as Rever scored just after halftime in a 1-0 win over Coritiba.

Atletico Mineiro won for the eighth time during a nine-game undefeated streak, as it restored a one-point cushion over Vasco da Gama.

Vasco da Gama reached the summit on Wednesday, when Juninho and Carlos Tenorio scored in the second half of a 2-0 win over struggling Sport Recife. Sport has lost three times during a six-game winless skid.

Also Thursday, Fred scored his eighth goal of the year as Fluminense edged Sao Paulo, 2-1, to stay within three points of Mineiro in third. Ponte Preta tied fourth-place Gremio, 0-0, in the day's other match.

Also Wednesday, Hernan Barcos scored a brace as Palmeiras edged Botafogo, 2-1, to end a three-match losing streak, Durval and Bill scored in the second half as Santos won for the second time in its last three games, 4-2, over Cruzeiro, Vagner Love had a brace as Flamengo beat Figueirense, 2-0, and Paulinho scored in the 77th as Corinthians tied Goianiense, 1-1.

Internacional tied Nautico, 0-0, and Bahia tied Portuguesa, 0-0, in the day's other matches.
