Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics provided medical updates on pitchers Jarrod Parker and Sonny Gray, along with outfielder Josh Reddick.

Parker suffered a right forearm strain which will fortunately only require offseason rest. The 24-year-old right-hander finished 12-8 with a 3.97 earned run average in 32 starts, and also posted a win in Game 3 of the ALDS against Detroit.

Gray underwent an MRI which revealed a tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb which will require surgery at a future date. The rookie righty went 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA in 12 games (10 starts) since arriving in the majors in July. He will consult with Dr. Thomas Graham at the Cleveland Clinic later in the week.

Reddick, who ended up hitting .226 with 12 homers and 56 RBI in 114 games this past season, is expected to have arthroscopic surgery to repair a sprained right wrist.

The 26-year-old had surgery on his left wrist in November of 2011 -- performed by Dr. Mark Belsky of Newton, Mass -- with whom Reddick will consult before going under the knife.
