Luca Cigarini scored in the second half as Atalanta climbed out of the red and handed AC Milan its second straight loss at the San Siro, 1-0, on Saturday in Serie A.

Atalanta started the season with minus-two points due to a penalty for match- fixing, and Cigarini provided a surprise winner in the 64th minute to lift his side two points onto the positive side. Atalanta also has a draw this season.

Milan dropped its season opener at the San Siro against Sampdoria, also by a 1-0 score. Inter Milan also its only league match at home this season, as the Milan clubs have lost all three matches combined at the stadium.

AC Milan will try to reverse its fortunes in the Champions League on Tuesday when Anderlecht visits the San Siro for the start of group play.

Palermo 1, Cagliari 1

Palermo, Italy - Marco Sau scored two minutes from time as Cagliari secured a 1-1 draw against Palermo on Saturday at the Stadio Renzo Barbera in Serie A.

Egidio Arevalo scored the first goal of the season for Palermo in the 40th as the hosts searched for their first win, but Sau converted a rebound from just a few yards out in the dying minutes to split the points.

Cagliari earned its second draw through three matches, while Palermo notched a point - its first of the season - as a consolation.
