Chicago, IL – Houston Astros right-hander Bud Norris was activated from the 15-day disabled list and started Friday's series opener in Chicago against the Cubs.
Norris gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk in six innings of a 4-0 loss. He only struck out one and gave up three home runs.
Norris missed three starts with a sprained left knee. He allowed two runs over five innings in a rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The 27-year-old Norris is 5-5 this season with a 4.90 earned run average with the Astros.
Houston cleared a roster spot for Norris by optioning southpaw Xavier Cedeno to Oklahoma City. He recorded one save and posted a 2.89 ERA in 12 appearances.
