A's OF Crisp has elbow surgery

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Oakland Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp had arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Friday and could miss up to two months.

Crisp, who throws with his right hand and bats from both sides, had two loose bodies removed from the elbow as well as some dead or damaged tissue in the joint, the A's said.

He tweeted Thursday that his recovery was expected to take between six and eight weeks, but was hopeful he could be back sooner than that.

Crisp is entering his sixth season with Oakland. He batted .246 with nine homers, 47 RBI and a .336 on-base percentage in 126 games last year.
