Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim activated reliever Sean Burnett from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Burnett, who has yet to appear this season because of a forearm injury, threw five consecutive scoreless outings for Double-A Arkansas to complete a rehab assignment.
The 31-year-old lefty had an 0.93 earned run average in 9 2/3 innings of work over 13 appearances last season before being shut down due to a torn flexor tendon in his left elbow.
To make room for Burnett, the Angels optioned outfielder Efren Navarro to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Navarro went 9-for-29 (.310) with two RBI and five doubles in 11 games for the Angels this season.
