Allenby, Frank lead in Ontario

James Allenby and Garrett Frank both shot 1- under 69 on Friday to share first place after two rounds of the Windsor Roseland Charity Classic.

Allenby and Frank were part of a four-way tie for the lead following the opening round, and are now atop the leaderboard by themselves at 6-under par 134.

The other two with a piece of the first-round lead were with Joe Panzeri and David Byrne, but neither played well Friday.

Panzeri struggled to a 3-over 73 on Friday to fall into a tie for seventh, while Byrne tumbled even further down the leaderboard after shooting a 76.

Will Strickler used a round of 66 at Roseland Golf Club to move to third place by himself, at minus-5.

Michael Gligic (66), Hugo Leon (67) and West Heffernan (66) share fourth place at 4-under.

Allenby, who tied for third last month at the Dakota Dunes Casino Open, got his round off to a good start with birdies at two and three. He gave one of those strokes back with a bogey at the fifth, but then ran off nine consecutive pars.

He birdied the par-4 15th, but bogeyed the last to lose a chance at the outright lead.

Frank managed to get into first place after rebounding from two early bogeys, which came at the first and fifth holes.

But he birdied No. 6, then made two in his first three holes after the turn. That put him at minus-6, and he parred out to stay at that number.

NOTES: The cut fell at 3-over 143, and among those to miss it was tour money leader Matt Hill...Hill shot a 74 on Friday to finish 36 holes at plus-4.
