Alabama loaded up on big men and defensive backs and also pulled off a signing day coup.
The result was Rivals.com's No. 1 recruiting class for the fourth consecutive year and sixth time in seven years on Wednesday.
Coach Nick Saban says the most accurate time to rate a class is a few years down the road. This one certainly looks impressive with seven five-star recruits and seven Parade All-Americans plus Florida State transfer quarterback Jake Coker.

Auburn linebacker Rashaan Evans gave the class a last-day boost by choosing the Tide over Auburn and UCLA.
Rivals rates defensive end Da'Shawn Hand as the top prospect nationally. Offensive tackle Cameron Robinson also is a top-five recruit.
They highlight a class with six players on both the offensive and defensive lines.
