Although still technically a junior in high school, 2017 prospect Alex Leatherwood looks like he can contribute to a college program right now. He's got tremendous athletic ability, and a size/frame beyond his years.

Hailing from Pensacola, Fla., the Rivals.com 4-star prospect made an early commitment to Nick Saban and the Alabama football program over a host of offers from all cross the region.

Although he's verbally committed to Alabama, Leatherwood has 11 months until he's locked in to attending the university. As such, the Florida native can explore and look at other programs.

Via SEC Country, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive tackle will visit LSU this upcoming weekend for a Junior Day event.

With both programs having a penchant for churning out offensive line prospects to the NFL on virtually an annual basis, Leatherwood is surely doing his due diligence when approaching the recruiting process.
