Ajax rolls over NEC

After being held to a draw on the opening weekend of the season, defending Eredivisie champions Ajax responded with a 6-1 win at NEC on Sunday.
The visitors came out flying from the start and were in complete control after just 20 minutes.
Jody Lukoki got the scoring started in the 13th minute for the Amsterdam side, while goals from Christian Eriksen and Tobias Sana three minutes apart made it 3-0 to Ajax after 20 minutes.

Theo Janssen added a fourth goal before halftime, while Siem de Jong tallied a goal of his own early in the second half to make it 5-0 with more than 35 minutes still to play.
NEC pulled a goal back through Bram Nuytinck in the 63rd, but Sana netted his second goal of the contest in the final 10 minutes to cap the emphatic win.
AZ Alkmaar held Ajax to a 2-2 draw on the opening weekend, and like Ajax, claimed three points on Sunday with a 3-1 victory at home against Heracles.

Jozy Altidore continued his hot start to the new season by scoring two goals in the match, giving him four in the first two games.
Groningen secured a 1-1 home draw against Willem II on Sunday while Den Haag and RKC Waalwijk traded late goals in a 2-2 draw.
RKC went down to 10 men in the 67th minute with the game tied at 1-1, but Teddy Chevalier was still able to put RKC in front in the 89th minute with his second goal of the game.

But Den Haag salvaged a point from the match in stoppage time as Danny Holla found the equalizer in the second minute of added time.
