Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - Ajax moved back to the top of the Eredivisie table on Sunday thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven at the Amsterdam Arena.

Patrick Van Aanholt's late winner on Saturday brought Vitesse to the summit of the Dutch top flight, but Sunday's home victory sees Ajax improve to 40 points on the season to go level with Vitesse, putting Frank de Boer's side in first place on goal difference.

Ajax and PSV were scoreless until the second half when Kolbeinn Sigthorsson's 64th-minute goal put the home side in front. It was Sigthorsson's seventh Eredivisie goal of the season, and proved to be enough to help Ajax collect all three points for the seventh consecutive league match.

PSV has lost three of its last five Eredivisie contests to remain on 26 points for the season.

Feyenoord kept pace with the leaders by cruising to a 5-2 defeat of Utrecht on Sunday.

The two sides hit for a total of four goals in the span of 10 first-half minutes as a brace from Utrecht's Jens Toornstra was canceled out by goals from Ruben Schaken and Graziano Pelle, but the remainder of the contest belonged to Feyenoord as goals from Stefan de Vrij, Schaken and Tonny Vilhena helped the visitors march on to an emphatic victory.

Ryan Koolwijk missed an early penalty for NEC, but it ultimately made no difference as the club earned a vital 3-1 win over Den Haag on Sunday.

Goals from Kevin Conboy, Marnick Vermijl and Rens Van Eijden proved to be too much for Den Haag as NEC collected three points to bring the club out of the Eredivisie cellar.

Also on Sunday, Marcel Ritzmaier and Martijn Barto scored on opposite sides of halftime to get a 2-0 home win over Go Ahead Eagles.
