After an up-and-down first 4 games, Jets and Geno Smith have plenty to fix

Geno Smith apologized to teammates on the New York Jets' defense after another turnover-filled performance.
The rookie quarterback says Monday he owed it to his teammates to say he was sorry for the two interceptions and two fumbles in the Jets' 38-13 loss at Tennessee on Sunday. Smith told them he wants to fix his mistakes and insists "I will clean them up."
Smith has 11 turnovers — eight interceptions, three lost fumbles — through four games. He acknowledges that he has been "up and down" as the Jets are off to a 2-2 start.

Coach Rex Ryan says benching Smith is "not a thought at this point," and the quarterback is not alone in his struggles. There were 10 more penalties and even the defense struggled at times Sunday.
