Santa Clara, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco 49ers starting fullback Bruce Miller was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday.
Miller sustained a fractured scapula during Sunday's 33-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The 26-year-old has started 13 games for the 49ers this season, catching the ball 25 times for 243 yards while paving the way for running back Frank Gore, who's rushed for 1,017 yards so far this season.
San Francisco signed fullback Will Tukuafu to a two-year deal to replace Miller on the active roster.
Tukuafu appeared in 18 games, mostly on special teams, for the 49ers over the previous two seasons. He recorded 15 tackles and one fumble recovery during that span.
The 49ers host Atlanta on Monday before wrapping up the regular season at home against Arizona on Dec. 29.
