Early signs point to the Celtics and Thunder being the league's two dominant teams.

As of Nov. 4, Boston is 6-1 through seven games, and the Thunder are 6-0 through six games. Only Cleveland, at 7-0, has a better record than the two squads atop the title oddsboard.

What might be most telling is that, so far, the Celtics have the best offense in the NBA, averaging 123.7 points per night. In addition, they shoot a whopping 50.3 3-pointers per game.

Last season, they shot a league-leading 42.5 3s per game.

As for OKC, it has the No. 1 defense in the NBA, allowing just 97.5 points per game. No other team in the league, through a few weeks, is allowing under 100 points per night.

In addition, through six games, the Thunder allow opponents to shoot just 39.6% from the field. No other team is currently holding opponents under 40% shooting.
