April 18: Vermont Fish and Wildlife wildlife biologist Forrest Hammond tranquilizes a 120-pound Vermont black bear with its head stuck in a milk can in Reading, Vt. It took a state biologist, firefighters and police about 45 minutes to free the bear's head from the can after the animal was found late Sunday morning off Vermont Route 106 in Reading. Officials estimate the bear had its head stuck in the old-fashioned milk can for at least six hours before it was found. Hammond says the bear had been running and bumping into trees and boulders. This poor grizzly had to be sedated in order to be rescued after getting stuck in a tree. Officials in Missoula Montana placed a trampoline so the sedated animal could fall back to safety. OUCH! 

Having been sedated this bear's last hope for rescue was to plunge to a trampoline in Missoula Montana. Here the animal can be seen plummeting down to the ground after  bouncing on the trampoline. 

The sedated bear, from Missoula Montana, finally crashes into the ground head first... no worries! This grizzly is safe and sound.
