Kermit -- everyone's favorite singing and dancing frog might be real. Or, at least a frog that looks like Jim Henson's popular Muppet. The Costa Rican Amphibian Research Center just announced the discovery of a new glass frog species.
The new species -- Hyalinobatrachium dianae -- was found on the Carribbean foothills of Costa Rica. The frog was named after Janet Diane Kubicki, the mother of Brian Kubicki, the study's senior author.
This new discovery is in good company. This Kermit look-alike joins the 14 other glass frog species that are said to inhabit Costa Rica, according to a Facebook post from the center.
