After 13 years with the St. Louis Rams, Green Bay Packers, and Houston Texans, defensive lineman Ryan Pickett is now a free agent and taking some time off from the football field. It seems like a good time to get ready for a potential move -- Pickett recently put his Poway, CA, home, which he first listed last year, back on the market with a significant price drop.
Now listed for $4.75 million (down from $7.5 million last year), the eight-bedroom, 10.5-bathroom home was once owned by baseball outfielder Jeromy Burnitz (presumably during his brief time with the Los Angeles Dodgers), according to the Los Angeles Times.
The home has everything you'd expect these two pro players would want: a custom pool with slide, an eight-car garage, a wine cellar, a basketball half-court with the logo of the Ohio State Buckeyes (Pickett's alma mater), and a hair salon. OK, maybe you wouldn't expect the salon.
The style of the home appears distinctly Old World. In the kitchen, for example, there is a massive marble-top island with gold scrollwork, huge wrought-iron and gold doors, and two chandeliers -- medieval servants not included.
Pickett, who helped the Packers win a Super Bowl Championship in 2010, might not be playing this year, but he isn't fully retired yet. Last season, he told the Houston Chronicle he'd happily play for the Texans again.
