Actor Don Cheadle, now starring in a biopic of Miles Davis hitting high notes with a few critics, is also directing the flip of a totally transformed Venice, CA, contemporary for $2.45 million.

"Miles Ahead" is the actor's directorial debut, and it'll be interesting to see whether the freshly minted auteur gives birth to a cool sale.

The " emotional custom home," as the listing calls it, sits in the Oxford Triangle neighborhood and features 10-foot ceilings and a chef's kitchen with marble counters, La Cornue range, and open staircase.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home also boasts a rooftop deck, eco-friendly features such as zero-VOC paint, and radiant heating. Rhonda Payne of Rodeo Realty is the listing agent.

Cheadle bought the property in 2014 for $894,000 when it was a 1950s bungalow, Curbed says.

Cheadle, who won an Emmy for his skin-crawling portrayal of a sleazy management consultant in Showtime's "House of Lies," directed, co-wrote, and stars in "Miles Ahead," which looks at the life and music of, arguably, the greatest trumpet player of all time.

Cheadle is so passionate about the film that he volunteered to babysit for a Dublin, Ireland, mom who recently fretted on Twitter that she had no time to see the picture. "Send 'em over," Cheadle tweeted. "Me and mama will babysit. You deserve a break!"
