The R&B artist and producer known as Akon is selling his white-on-white Atlanta-area mansion for $2.6 million, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
The mansion, which was featured on " MTV Cribs," sits in a gated community and boasts nearly 15,000 square feet of living space. However, the home "is currently in need of repair," according to the listing.
The home's issues, including the construction of a glass floor, are already notorious and the subject of more than one lawsuit filed against Akon for nonpayment, according to several news reports. In November, TMZ said the singer signed over the deed to the house to his mother, suggesting it was an attempt to avoid debts amounting to more than $100,000.
Akon, who was in and out of jail as a teenager reportedly on theft and drug charges, changed his life and became a platinum-selling artist. He's best known for his 2006 hit (and wedding staple) "Smack That." The song was the first single from his second album, "Konvicted," which received three Grammy nominations.
The singer's home, with six bedrooms and six full bathrooms, features indoor and outdoor pools; racquetball, tennis, and basketball courts; and two guesthouses. But a buyer must budget for additional expenses because "roof repairs are needed" and the faulty roof has led to ceiling issues in many of the rooms.
