A Tiny House Among Giant Redwoods Near Bohemian Grove in Sonoma County

At 470 square feet, this hillside home proves you don't need a lot of space to live in luxury.
Listed for $279,000 and located deep in the redwood forests of Monte Rio, CA, this tiny home has everything you need for year-round living (really!).
The living area doubles as office space during the day with a built-in desk and shelving along one wall. At night, the space turns into a bedroom with a convertible sofa. The cathedral ceiling, exposed wood beams, and rows of awning windows make the space feel bright and larger than it is.

Behind a set of cabinets (cleverly hiding the washer and dryer and storage space) is something you don't usually see in a tiny house: a full, modern kitchen. It has wood countertops, high-end stainless-steel appliances, and plenty of windows.
On the other side is another surprise: a master bathroom and walk-in closet.
"There is a huge soaking tub overlooking the woods," says listing agent Kyla Brooke. "It is a gorgeous room."

Outside, the home has a wraparound deck built around the giant redwoods. The deck extends over the hill, leaving plenty of space for an eating area, a grill, and an outdoor shower. "There is room for a hot tub, too," says Brooke.
The property is private, Brooke says, but nearby are two houses that are barely visible. Also, a few times a year guests flock to the area.
"The Bohemian Club meets once a year to commune with nature on the land at the bottom of the hill," says Brooke. Yes -- that Bohemian Club. And because the Bohemian Grove is private and very hush-hush, things could be a lot worse when it comes to neighbors.

The home is located near a local beach and two great restaurants, according to Brooke. The town of Monte Rio is two miles away and a "perfect spot for bikes."
While the seller built and lived in the tiny house for two years, a new owner could expand on the property. Brooke says the house isn't zoned for an addition, but another structure can be built -- perhaps a large master suite?
For now, "this is the perfect home for someone looking for a romantic getaway in the woods," Brooke says.
