Trump, Christie cancel campaign events due to Joaquin
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Chris Christie have canceled campaign events on the East Coast ahead of Hurricane Joaquin.
Christie, the New Jersey governor, plans to attend a Boston event Thursday night but canceled an upcoming New Hampshire campaign stop and plans to remain in his state through Tuesday. The governor declared a state of emergency in preparation for the coming storm.
Trump also canceled a scheduled rally at the Wave Convention Center Friday evening in Virginia Beach, Va.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe also declared a state of emergency Wednesday afternoon, allowing emergency responders to begin to prepare for the storm.
Trump said in a statement he'd been expected 10,000 to attend the event, and plans to reschedule soon.
